Jennifer Lopez is changing her last name after splitting from Ben Affleck.

The “On the Floor” singer filed to remove the Gone Girl actor’s surname from her legal identity after ending her marriage on Tuesday, August 20.

Lopez wrote her name as “Jennifer Lynn Affleck” on the forms to end her marriage. At the end of the three-page petition, the Marry Me actress requested her former name be restored. Jennifer Lopez.

The “Let’s Get Loud” star cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Lopez asked for no spousal support in the divorce. She also asked for their assets and debts to be separated.

The “Shotgun Wedding” star said the details of community and quasi-community property were unknown at the time of filing and would be determined later.

Lopez and Affleck’s divorce comes just two years after they married in July 2022. It’s also two decades after they called off their initial engagement in early 2024.

Lopez’s divorce papers say she and Affleck have been separated since April 26. This confirms months of rumors that their marriage was ending.

Fans wondered if Lopez and Affleck had problems just days after their separation. At the beginning of May, the brunette star went to the Met Gala in New York City alone.

Affleck also appeared at Tom Brady’s live Netflix roast. He later faced backlash for going on an “unhinged rant.”

Lopez and Affleck haven’t commented on their split. The singer filed for divorce without an attorney.

This is Lopez’s fourth failed marriage. She was previously married to Marc Anthony, Cris Judd, and Ojani Noa.

Lopez had twins Max and Emme with Anthony before they divorced. They are good co-parents.

Affleck had been married once before he and Lopez got married.

The Air star married Jennifer Garner in 2005 and had three kids before divorcing her in 2018.
