Celine Dion has one of the finest voices in the industry and is considered one of the greatest singers of all time. However, her life has been far from easy.

This is the story of her most significant challenge. From the beginning, she faced many obstacles.

Despite incredible success, it has yet to be smooth sailing for her. She has had to learn how to balance her career with a controversial relationship and numerous health issues. However, she always maintains a positive attitude and gives her best during performances.

In 1999, she received devastating news about her husband, as he was hospitalized due to throat cancer.

Celine cared for him constantly despite her mother disapproving of their relationship.  In 2000, amidst concerts and tours, Celine took a well-deserved break from her career to focus on her family.

To increase the chances of conception, Celine underwent two in-vitro fertilization procedures with her husband after several unsuccessful attempts. Celine gave birth to her first child, Rene-Charles Dion Angelil, in 2001.

She is the youngest of 14 children in a financially unstable family. Despite her mother not planning to have more children after the 13th, destiny had other plans. As a baby, Celine had to sleep in a cabinet drawer due to the unavailability of beds.

Therese Tanguay Dion, Celine’s mother, is a well-known chef in Quebec.

In 1990, Celine established her first restaurant in Quebec, which was a great success, much like her music.

The 1990s were a stressful decade for Celine. During this period, she released an impressive 13 albums and received devastating news about Rene’s health. This difficult period made her realize the need to take a break for herself and her family.

While on a break, the National Enquirer published a story claiming that Celine had twins. Celine responded by taking legal action against the magazine and requesting $20 million in damages. The magazine promptly apologized and donated money to the American Cancer Society.

Celine’s mother and brother, Jacques, recognized her talent as a singer and composed songs for her.

Rene took a significant personal risk in supporting Celine. He took out a loan on his house to obtain enough budget to release Celine’s first album.

It may sound wild, but he knew what he was doing. Their sacrifices paid off when her song became number one in Canada.

Celine and Rene’s wedding was televised live, and they tied the knot in Montreal’s Notre Dame Basilica on December 17, 1994. The number of people who wanted to watch made it the equivalent of a Royal Wedding in Canada.

The power couple purchased a $72 million mansion in Florida, which includes a golf course, three pools, and a water park.

While performing, Celine received heartbreaking news and decided to perform a tribute song for her husband. Rene passed away on January 14, 2016, after battling an illness.

She donated $1 million to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and organized an event that raised $1 million for the victims of the Asian tsunami. She was vocal about the US government’s inefficiency.
