Michelle Obama “couldn’t stand” her husband Barack for ten years of marriage

Former US First Lady Michelle Obama revealed this month that she “couldn’t stand” former President Obama for ten years when the couple’s two daughters were young.

During a roundtable discussion with Revolt TV, Michelle spoke about the difficulties of raising two young daughters while the power couple pursued their careers and how it affected their marriage.

” No one talks about how hard you have to work and how hard it is, even when you’re madly in love with someone, even when everything is working out the right way,” she said.

” Saying that people think I’m plotting: Like there were ten years when I couldn’t stand my husband. You know when that happened? Because the kids were little.”

Michelle talked about the difficult balance between raising the girls and her hectic schedule.

” For ten years, while we were trying to build a career and, you know, worrying about school and who was doing what and who was doing what, I was like: “Ew, that’s not it,” she explained.

” And you know what? Marriage is not 50/50, never, ever, ever.

” There are times when I’m 70 and he’s 30. And there are times when he’s 60 or 40, but guess what: 10 years, and we’re married for 30. Ten bad years are better than 30 – it’s just the way you look at it. And people give up… “Five years; I can’t take it. ”

Malia and Sasha Obama were 10 and 7 years old when their father was elected president, respectively.

” Little kids – they’re terrorists. They are demanding. They don’t know how to talk. They don’t communicate well. They cry all the time,” she said.

” They are unintelligent. They need help. And you love them. And so you can’t blame them, right? … So you turn that anger on each other.”

The former first lady revealed that she still respects and admires her spouse through all the ups and downs. However, she emphasized that it is essential to know “your man.”

“Do you like him? So you can be angry with him but still look at him and say, ‘I’m not happy with you, but I respect you,'” she said. ” You say, ‘I disagree with you, but you’re still a kind, intelligent person.’ ”

Michelle recently promoted her second book, “The Light We Carry,” published in November.

Speaking about the book last month, she said she felt pressured to wear her hair straight.

Michelle said Americans “weren’t ready” for her natural hair because they are still “getting used to” having a black first family in the White House.

” When Barack put on a tan suit, they were shocked,” she added, recalling the controversy that erupted around him in 2014 when he wore an unusual outfit for a president.

The Obama family has made millions from book deals and speaking engagements. It is estimated that their fortune is at least 70 million dollars.

The couple signed a joint deal in 2017 to publish their memoirs for about 65 million dollars.
