Beautifully white teeth are something we all yearn for.
Although we don’t usually think about what’s going on in our mouths, it’s important to remember that neglecting your teeth can lead to gum disease, tooth loss, and worse. Here’s a list of 10 things you can do at home to remove tartar and keep your teeth healthy. They cost very little or nothing.
1 – Baking soda
Baking soda is an effective way to clean your teeth. A bonus is that it simultaneously whitens them.
2. Hydrogen peroxide: a proper disinfectant that can also whiten your teeth when diluted. It seems that if you gargle every day for a few months, it will make your teeth whiter and keep your mouth cleaner.
3 – Apples
Nature’s toothpaste! Apparently, eating apples can help clean your teeth and fight bad breath.
The fibrous nature of apples is said to scrub away plaque and other food debris from your teeth.
4 – Oranges
Not only are oranges full of vitamin C, but they can also help improve your oral hygiene. They are effective against the bacteria that grow in your mouth.
5 – Baking soda and aloe vera
Aloe vera may be bitter, but it is effective at removing tartar from your teeth. The preparation of a teeth-scrubbing formula requires mixing one teaspoon of aloe vera, four teaspoons of glycerin, five tablespoons of baking soda, lemon essential oil, and a cup of water. The plaque and tartar will disappear.
6 – Foods rich in vitamin C
The antimicrobial properties of foods such as tomatoes and strawberries make them effective at removing bacteria from the mouth. The pulp of tomatoes and strawberries is extracted and applied to your teeth (leaving it there for 5 minutes), which is a great way to keep your mouth bacteria-free (this should be done twice a week).
7. Spicy foods
Whatever your opinion of spicy foods, they’re an effective remedy for removing tartar from your teeth. They generate heightened saliva production in your mouth to help clean your teeth and gums.
8 – Anti-tartar toothpaste
You can make your own natural toothpaste that is extremely good at fending off tartar by mixing coconut oil, baking soda, stevia powder, and olive oil.
9 – Carrots
It is a common misconception that carrots help one see in the dark. However, it is less well known that they also strengthen one’s teeth.
They have been hailed as a cavity-fighting vegetable in the past because they are high in plaque-attacking keratin and vitamin A.
10 – Almonds
Almonds also effectively remove plaque from your mouth. Their abrasive texture helps clean away surface stains.
