A giant snake crawls into the bedroom of a Bangkok woman and attacks her

What began as a night of ordinary sleep for Kaew Sudsopha turned into a surreal horror — the kind that clawed its way out of nightmares and into the folds of her bedroom.

In the hushed hours before dawn, Kaew was jolted awake by a sharp, inexplicable pain in her leg. Still tethered to the haze of dreams, she assumed it was a figment of her imagination — a restless echo from sleep. But the sting was too vivid, too real. When she flicked on a light and caught a glimmer of movement across the floor, the truth slithered into focus: a massive snake was in her room.

In disbelief, she scrambled to rouse her son from the adjacent room. It wasn’t until they checked the footage from a surveillance camera — one he had discreetly installed in her room for safety — that the sequence of horror was revealed.

The video captured every chilling second. Kaew, soundly asleep, unaware as a giant serpent crept through an opening, glided silently across the floor, and paused — almost contemplatively — as it studied her. Then, like a shadow with fangs, it lunged, striking the leg that dangled from the edge of the bed.

With no time to waste, her son contacted animal control. The rescuers arrived promptly and found the predator coiled nonchalantly atop the toilet seat — as if it belonged there. Fortunately, they managed to subdue and capture the intruder without further harm.

The snake, now dubbed the “midnight stalker,” is set to be released back into the wild — far from human dwellings. But for Kaew, the unsettling memory of its scales in the dark and the brush of its fangs against her skin will not slither away so easily.
