These stars were big in Hollywood’s Golden Age and gave some of the best performances. See celebrities who still captivate audiences and fans.

Bob Barker

Another Bob on the list, Barker hosted the game show The Price Is Right from 1972 to 2007 and Truth or Consequences.

Barker was a producer on The Price Is Right until 2019. He’s also known for playing himself in shows and documentaries like Lorena, Entertainment Tonight, and others.

Dick Van Dyke

If you like old comedies, you probably know The Dick Van Dyke Show. Dick Van Dyke is an actor, comedian, writer, singer, and dancer. He served in the military.

In 2017, Dick Van Dyke released his first solo album with a duet with Jane Lynch. In 2020, he was on The Kidding as Hopscotch the Sasquatch.

Eva Marie Saint

Eva Marie Saint has been in show business for over 75 years. Saint is one of the few surviving Oscar winners. She started her career in 1946 on the NBC show Campus Hoopla.

The actress was 93. In 2014, she starred in the movie Winter’s Tale and voiced a character in The Legend of Korra. In 2018, she presented an Academy Award for Costume Design.

John Astin

John Astin is an actor, director, and voice artist who has appeared in many TV shows. He is best known for playing Gomez Addams in The Addams Family.

His role as Gomez led to similar parts in other Addams Family shows. Since 2001, Astin has directed the Theater Arts and Studies Department at Johns Hopkins University. The actor was last seen in 2018 in Starship II: Rendezvous with Ramses as Professor Peabody.

Julie Andrews

Who can forget The Sound of Music? The movie’s star, Julie Andrews, made it even more iconic. Andrews has been in many great films, like Mary Poppins, Cinderella, The Tamarind Seed, The Man Who Loved Women, and Relative Values.

Andrews has done voice work in several animated films, including Shrek and Despicable Me. She also appeared in Netflix’s Bridgerton as the narrator. Andrews will soon be in The King’s Daughter and Minions—the Rise of Gru.

Loretta Lynn

Loretta Lynn is a country music legend. The singer has been nominated for a Grammy 18 times thanks to hits like “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man)” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

The film Coal Miner’s Daughter won an Academy Award in 1980. In early 2021, Lynn released an album with other country music artists.

Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks is an actor, comedian, film producer, director, and screenwriter known for movies like The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Young Frankenstein.

He also wrote the TV show Get Smart. Brooks is among the few actors to win an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony, and a Grammy.

Nancy Sinatra

Nancy Sinatra is a singer and actress best known for the song “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.” She started her career on TV in 1967.

She became one of music’s most famous voices. In 2021, her music was featured in films like The Chair, Bless the Hearts and Cruella.

Sophia Loren

Italian actress Sophia Loren is known for her beauty and charm. She started her career at 16 with small roles until she got a five-film contract with Paramount Pictures.

Loren became an international celebrity and style icon. She has appeared in many films, including It Started in Naples, Houseboat, The Pride and the Passion, Sunflower, and The Life Ahead. Loren was last seen in The Life Ahead as Madame Rosa.

Anthony Hopkins

Anthony Hopkins is an award-winning actor, director, and producer. In 1993, Queen Elizabeth II knighted Hopkins for his contributions to the arts.

Hopkins played serial killer Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. Hopkins is known for Legends of the Fall, The Last Knight, Nixon, Amistad, and more. Upcoming films include The Son and Armageddon Time.
