The Princess of Wales hopes to join a few public engagements over the summer. Kate Middleton made a highly anticipated appearance over the weekend at Trooping the Colour but has not resumed royal duties.
The Princess of Wales, 42, made her first public appearance in six months on June 15 at King Charles’ birthday parade in London. She traveled by carriage with her kids and shared a look of love on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with Prince William.
While it was Princess Kate’s first royal appearance since her cancer diagnosis in March and her first public outing with the royal family since Christmas, she is not officially back to work.
On June 14, the day before Trooping the Colour, the Princess of Wales shared a letter giving the first update on her health since she revealed she is undergoing chemotherapy.
“I’m looking forward to the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but I know I’m not out of the woods yet,” she said. “I’m learning to be patient, especially with uncertainty.” “I’m taking it daily, listening to my body, and allowing myself to heal.”
No decisions have been made about Princess Kate’s future engagements. Any upcoming outings will depend on her health.
The Princess of Wales said in the message that she is “making good progress, but there are good and bad days with chemotherapy.” On bad days, you feel weak and tired and need to rest. On good days, you want to make the most of feeling well.
Princess Kate said her treatment will last a few more months.
The Princess of Wales has started working from home and holding meetings with her teams in Windsor.
“On good days, I enjoy being at school, spending time on things that make me happy, and starting to work from home,” Kate said.
In May, it was revealed that she was briefed on a report from the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood. This was to keep up with the team she set up last year to promote her campaign about the importance of the early years.
In a letter on June 14, the Princess of Wales said she was “blown away” by the well-wishes she received after sharing the news about her health in March and thanked everyone for their support.
“Thank you for your understanding,” she said. Matt Porteous took the photo in Windsor.
