She has been in the public eye since she was a teenager as a woman in the entertainment business, which inevitably leads to questions about when she will have children. While Aniston has previously opened up about her decision not to have children, in a new podcast, she reveals why she will never adopt.
Jennifer Aniston has been involved in several high-profile relationships, with some of her most notable partners being her co-stars from the TV series Friends. She has been married twice — first to Brad Pitt and then to Justin Theroux — and is now engaged to hypnotist Jim Toth.
While Aniston’s private life has always attracted the attention of gossip columns and entertainment media outlets worldwide, there are some things one would prefer to keep private.
Her love life has been a significant topic of discussion for many years, prompting questions about whether she would have children.
In the end, Jennifer had had enough. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, she said it’s “not anybody’s business”, but she decided to speak out to put an end to rumours about the reason why.
‘That’s not anybody’s business. However, there comes a juncture at which one cannot help but be aware of the discourse surrounding my decision not to procreate, not to form a family, because I am thoughtless, work-obsessed,” the multiple award-winning thespian informed Harper’s Bazaar. ‘It does affect me – I’m just a human being. We’re all human beings. That’s why I thought, ‘What the hell?'”
It was revealed by Jennifer Aniston that she had undergone IVF treatments in silence and that she felt compelled to speak out.
“People didn’t know my story or what I’d been through over the past 20 years to start a family. I don’t go around telling people about my medical issues,” the Morning Show star explained. “I knew a lot of women who were trying to have kids and dealing with IVF at the time. So it felt like it was not only for me, but for all the women out there who were struggling with the same issue.”
While IVF does not guarantee pregnancy, adoption could be an alternative for many. However, this has not been the case for Jennifer Aniston. People magazine has reported that the 56-year-old will be sharing in an upcoming episode of the Wondery+ Early Access Armchair Expert podcast that she simply doesn’t want to adopt. The episode is set to air on 20 October.
“I would like my own DNA to be encapsulated in a diminutive humanoid form. That’s the only way. I’ve wanted it, whether that makes me selfish or not.
Talking about having kids of her own, she said she’s met some guys who “would have made some good kids”, but she added that it hasn’t been a significant concern for her. Instead, the thought has passed “within three seconds”.
Aniston also said that having children “just wasn’t in the plan, whatever the plan was”.
