Elvis Presley’s ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, looked sad and upset when she appeared in Los Angeles this week.
The 80-year-old has had a tough time since her daughter Lisa Marie Presley died in January 2023.
Lisa Marie was only 54 years old when she died from complications after a weight-loss surgery she had had years before.
Priscilla and her granddaughter, Riley Keough, had a big argument about who got the family money. They settled near the end of 2023.
Since last year, she has been involved in another legal dispute with her former business partners. She sued them for $1 million, saying they had tricked her out of money.
Priscilla says she met Kruse in 2021, when Kruse was running a business selling Elvis memorabilia through an auction house. Kruse sued her in February 2024 for breaking a contract.
The lawsuit claims that Kruse convinced Priscilla that her former financial advisors were either dishonest or incompetent. The lawsuit also claims that Kruse tricked Priscilla into signing contracts and forming companies that allowed her and her colleagues to take 80% of Priscilla’s income, leaving Priscilla with only 20% of her own company.
Presley also says that her former business partners stopped a deal from going through that would have given the star a share in a cosmetics company. Instead, she says they got $300,000 upfront, which they put in their bank accounts.
The lawsuit also claims Kruse and her colleagues took $40,000 from an account for her son, Navarone Garibaldi, without permission and made deals related to the late Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. It also says they charged Priscilla for moving and storage expenses without her consent, which was considered a fraud.
Priscilla (represented by Marty Singer) is suing Kruse for more than $1 million. She wants a court to cancel her contracts with Kruse and the other defendants.
In February 2024, Kruse said in her lawsuit against the star that she had stopped her from going bankrupt and being embarrassed in public.
Kruse said in legal documents seen by TMZ that she and the actress started a company together called Priscilla Presley Partners in 2022.
Priscilla had unpaid tax debts of $700,000 at the time, Kruse told the court.
Kruse said Presley had been ‘about to go bankrupt’ when she stepped in and sorted out her finances.
Kruse is suing Priscilla for breaking the contract. She says that in August 2023, Priscilla stopped contacting her and has not paid her for the projects she worked on.
