Drying yourself off
When you get out of the shower, you should dry yourself off before getting dressed. If you’re in a hurry, you might dry off “enough.”
But you should take the time to dry yourself thoroughly before getting dressed. If you don’t dry yourself properly, you’re more likely to attract bacteria and fungi.
Another Note on Showering
When you jump in the shower, you might have more than just your towel habit working against you—the way you shampoo can make a difference, too. It’s about how often you shampoo. Yet, you don’t want to over-wash your hair either. It’s a good idea to research the needs of your hair type to find the right balance.
Check your hairbrush, too.
Of course, you must start by removing all the old hair caught in the bristles. To sanitize it, stir a bowl of hot water and shampoo with your hairbrush for a deeper clean.
Brushing Your Teeth
Most people brush their teeth twice daily, once in the morning and once at night. But you might be brushing for less than two minutes. You should brush for two minutes to avoid plaque, gingivitis, and other problems between dental visits.
Replace your toothbrush regularly.
No matter where or how you store your toothbrushes, they don’t last forever. You’re going to need to get a new one at some point. Of course, it’s easy to keep your toothbrush around too long. When should you replace it, at least every three to four months? If the bristles start to fan out or break down before then, it’s time for an early replacement.
Let them soak
When you have tough, stuck-on stains on your dishes, you should first let them sit in soapy water for a while. However, a damp environment can encourage bacteria to grow. So, if you do leave your dishes to soak, you should make sure that you clean not only them but also your sink.
Wash your sheets!
Keeping your bedding clean is essential, but sometimes it can be easy to forget. You must wash your sheets regularly if you want your room to be clean. While some people wait up to a month to wash their sheets, putting them in the washing machine and running a cycle every week is best.
Replace your razor
If your razor is blunt, shaving or trimming your beard can be painful. Consider replacing your razor before the blade gets blunt, though. Razors collect hair and skin cells that you can’t wash out thoroughly.
Speaking of disinfectant
If there’s one place you always touch, it’s your phone. It comes with you everywhere, too, meaning it can collect bacteria throughout the day.
Taking a few moments at the end of the day to use a safe disinfectant wipe for your phone screen can make it much cleaner.
Wash your makeup brushes!
You can rely on makeup brushes to get the final touches right when you do your makeup. However, these brushes work by collecting makeup, oils from your skin, and bacteria. As you use them every time you do your makeup, this isn’t great for hygiene. Once a week, use some warm water and shampoo or brush cleaner to clean them.
